Ever find yourself asking “What should I do?”
More often than not there really is no need to ask. You probably already know what you need to do— you’re just trying to avoid it. Stalling so you don’t have to perform the next dreaded task.
Has it happened to you? You need to make a phone call and all of the sudden you feel the need to scrub the garbage disposal with a tooth comb? Brush the dog’s teeth? Run a marathon? Anything but the one thing you know you need to do.
The most helpful tool I’ve found is setting a two minute timer.
What? Two minutes?!?! That’s ridiculous.
I know, I know… but this one tool has been a game changer for me, because I mean, come on, who doesn’t have two minutes? You’ve got two minutes, right? I know I do. Almost always though after the timer goes off I just keep right on going. I end up getting a lot done.
There are also those days, however, when I truly don’t feel like ‘doing’. Yet still, I set my two minute timer and accomplish what I can in those two short minutes. At least then I have been faithful to take action daily, no matter how small.

This is a great tip Beck! 🙌
Thank you 😊 🤗
Isn’t it funny how we have time to scroll through instagram, to be on a call with friends but we don’t have time for the things that are the most important. Im learning how to prioritise the important things. Im going to try your tip!
So true Olivia! I think it is important to love ourselves through the process. The two minute timer is a big form of self love for me because I used to be one of those “don’t stop until you’re finished” type, but often that would prevent me from starting. Now, I just think- something is way better than nothing. It takes a little pressure off. I hope it works for you too! ❤️
Amazing thought dear. Can we call it as ‘two minutes magic’?
Just take two minutes and say. lol..🙂🙂
That’s even better! You know I’m all about magic!!! Love this. 😊 🤗
You trying to trick me into being productive? 🙂

It’s funny cuz I’ve had those days when I push things aside and decide in a moment just to to do it. Great tip. ~ Bernice

This method really works, Beck! Reminds me of the parent saying, “You don’t have to eat it if you don’t like it. Just take one bite…” Liked this post. Cheryl
