A Clean Break?

PEDDLER: Excuse me?

NARRATOR: Yes, Peddler. What do you need?

PEDDLER: The Penicillin

NARRATOR: Oh my yes! The penicillin, we can’t leave that out in the Ether for too long now, can we?

PEDDLER: No, we can’t, it might get me in serious trouble.

NARRATOR: But what about the boys? And Tori?

PEDDLER: But Tori is with me.

NARRATOR: Yes, Peddler, I know – the now Tori is with you but the past Tori is with John Smith and they two are dangling in a net. The story doesn’t make sense if I don’t tell what happens next.

PEDDLER: Next time, just let the reader decide.

NARRATOR: What do you mean, let the reader decide?

PEDDLER: I mean what I said – next time let the reader decide which trail to follow. They all end up in the same place anyway, don’t they? In the end? Look, whatever they decide later is for later. Right now, I really need that penicillin.

NARRATOR: Right. Well… this does bring up some trickery but for now we’ll just do whatever it is YOU want to do. Here we are then, off to follow the Peddler.

PEDDLER: (See, Tori, I told you I can make people do what I want…)

TORI: (Ha! Peddler, don’t be ridiculous.)

My Love,

I’m sorry for the tease but when the Peddler wants an audience, there is nothing I can do but comply. He has a way you know. Tomorrow brings the telling – I promise.

Until then,

Narrator
